About our Community Investment Process

At the United Way of Washington County-East we believe in the power of community to work together on our most. pressing and urgent needs. Through the community investment process, local nonprofits and organizations can apply for program funding that address needs in youth, health, basic needs, and self-sufficiency impact areas. The process is then 100% community driven, meaning reviewing the grant applications, site visits, and allocation of funds are made my community members. This process allows them to see and hear first hand the impact that these nonprofits are making in the community. Interested in more information? Contact Mai Chee at maichee.lee@uwwce.org

A Community Driven Approach

Our Community Investment volunteers are comprised of individuals who live and work in the St. Croix Valley and represent our four impact areas. They review, evaluate, and provide final recommendations regarding the amounts funded. We love that our funds allocated are raised, allocated, and then put right back into what our community really wants and needs.
